WACUBO Launches New Job Board

WACUBO Launches New Job Board – A Strategic Professional Development Tool

WACUBO launched its new job board December 1, 2025, and it is a gold mine for business officers in higher education, no matter where they are in their career journeys. For job seekers, it is a dynamic, user-friendly interface that makes finding relevant opportunities efficient and reliable. For everyone, it is a strategic professional development tool that can be leveraged in myriad ways. As a career coach, I am jazzed that WACUBO members have this elevated tool at their fingertips. I often recommend to clients that they use job boards to identify skill gaps, discover networking leads, and explore future career options. For high impact results, the job board can be used to benchmark what institutions are looking for in candidates, keep on top of what credentials are needed, and stay marketable, competitive and relevant in the ever-changing world of higher education.

Let’s first look at the inner workings of the WACUBO job board (https://jobs.wacubo.org/)/ . When I toured the site, I had a seamless experience, and I found it to be intuitive with great filtering features such as location (city, state), job categories (12 including administration, finance, business operations, campus operations), and salary ranges. Each job listing had ample details, for example, summary descriptions, hybrid/in-person/flexible working arrangements, candidate profiles, required and preferred qualifications, institution profiles, and more information that gave insight into business officer positions in higher education.

Next, let’s leverage the WACUBO job board as a strategic professional development tool, an added benefit that transcends a job search. You can benchmark your own skills and uncover gaps, identify emerging higher education trends, and map out your potential career paths. A deep dive into the job board reveals institutional culture, networking possibilities, and fuels ideas for career advancement. As a career coach, I invite WACUBO members to stay curious at all stages of their professional development journey. Here are some questions you can consider as you tour this newly-designed job board:

Current Position

  • What is the “story” that you glean from other institutions in your specific area of higher education business? How is your current role described at other institutions?
  • What might you need to do to stay marketable and relevant in your current position?
  • How can you use the WACUBO job board to network with other members at different institutions?

Future Position

  • What recurring skills, credentials, and key words are listed in the position descriptions for the roles you may want in the future? What might you need to “upskill” as a result?
  • When reviewing listed positions, what sparks the greatest interest for your “dream” role (e.g., job profile, institution culture, geographic location, working arrangements, salary range)?
  • If you "look ahead" five years, what do the future senior-level positions you want require in terms of experience, achievements, and expected outcomes? What do you need to do now to be competitive for these future opportunities?

As a Manager

  • If you will be recruiting for a position on your team, how is that position described at other locations?
  • How can you use the WACUBO job board to support the professional development of your team members in their current and future positions?

WACUBO is a premier provider of professional development and networking for business officers serving higher education in the western region, and the newly launched WACUBO job board is a strategic professional development tool that supports this vision. No matter where you are in your career journey, be sure to take a tour of the job board and explore the possibilities.
